Merchant Business Brokers were thrilled to support the annual Bean Counters Ball, as gold sponsors.
The Bean Counters Ball is a joint initiative between local members of the Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) to raise funds for the Hunter TAFE Foundation and Samaritans.
On Friday, 28 October 2016 more than 260 people from Newcastle’s accounting and business community gathered to attend the black-tie event, which was hosted by funny guy Tom Ballard at the Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre.
In its sixth year, the Ball raised $22,500, all of which will be donated to programs supporting young people studying accounting through two local charity foundations. It’s also a way for these organisations to show their support to these young individuals throughout their educational journey.
“The partnership between CPA, CAANZ with the support of our sponsors and the local business community, is making a difference to the lives of people who need it most,” Bean Counters Ball Chairperson, Cassandra Sharp said during the event.
Three scholarships were present to accounting students Summer Christie, Yvonne Johnson, and Alastair Anderberg through the Hunter TAFE Foundation.
Merchant Business Brokers couldn’t be more proud to sponsor the event as this is our way of directly supporting young people to achieve their career aspirations no matter the hardships they are facing.
Merchant Business Brokers have also committed to be a Gold Sponsor for the 2017 Bean Counters Ball as well.
